In Lanao del Norte, the biggest and longest caravan for 2019 Local Election took place on the first day of the campaign period. Almost 100 vehicles joined the motorcade beginning early morning of March 29, 2019 in the Municipality of Balo-i, from the said town it proceeded to the Municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo; a 112 km journey along the coastal highway passing the Municipalities of Matungao, Linamon, Kauswagan, Bacolod, Maigo, Kolambugan, Tubod (Capital town), Baroy, Lala, and Kapatagan.
Local candidates representing the PDP-Laban of Lanao del Norte assembled to demonstrate not only the large number of supporters but as well as the unity between the Muslim and the Christian residents of the province.
Incumbent local officials of Lanao del Norte, headed by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo-representing the National People’s Coalition, Vice Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, the Municipal Mayors, Vice Mayors and the Sangguniang Bayan members together with the aspiring Officials have gathered inside the Municipal Gymnasium of Sultan Naga Dimaporo after the caravan, to officially proclaim the candidates of the PDP-Laban, the Political Party of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, in front of several thousand supporters of the TEAM QUIBRANZA DIMAPORO.
Congressman Khalid, Chairman of PDP-Laban of the Province of Lanao del Norte proudly called on the stage the official candidates for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of 1st and 2nd District to formally proclaim their candidacy together with Governor Angging and Vice Governor Cristy, as well as the candidates for the Municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, well-represented by the outgoing Municipal Vice Mayor and soon to be Mayor of SND, Honorable Motalib Dimaporo.
All the official PDP-Laban candidates of the province were challenged by Congressman Khalid, that if given the opportunity in this election, never forget to sincerely serve the constituents of their respective municipalities.
Governor Angging humbly expressed her thanks to Mayor Elias Ali of Balo-i and Mayor Ulwan Dimaporo of Sultan Naga Dimaporo for hosting the assembly of the caravan and the proclamation rally, respectively. “During our assembly in Balo-i, it rained. But, I see this as a blessing and told the participants to continue and not to be discouraged because it is a gift from above.”
The Provincial Chief Executive was proud to mention that the unity of the Muslims and the Christians is a primary factor which contribute in the achievement of peaceful and develop communities in Lanao del Norte, “The Land o Beauty and Bounty.”
