The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte in partnership with Ateneo de Davao Grade School Sports Office represented by Mr. Airnel T. Abarra organize to hold the Mindanao Blue Knights Track League Season 5 Finals in “The Land of Beauty and Bounty”, at Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, Sagadan, Municipality of Tubod on February 22 to 25, 2019.

Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo strongly promotes Sports Tourism in the province where Executive Assistant to the Office of the Provincial Governor, Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo has actively organized various sporting events such as Football and Triathlons, to name a few, in encouraging the participation of the youth and enhance their talents and skills as well as mould their characteristics as responsible constituents of the province and citizens of the country.

Mindanao Blue Knights Track League is an independently-organized homegrown Athletics (Track and Field) that started in Davao City which aims to provide alternative Athletic event within Davao Region and eventually reaches other regions in line with their vision of providing independent and consistent programs in Athletics beginning from the grassroots.

On February 22, young athletes from Davao Region including Panabo City; Davao Occidental and Ateneo de Davao; Municipality of Villanueva of Misamis Oriental; Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, athletes from Misamis Occidental and from Lanao del Norte converged for the 3 day event beginning Saturday at the world class sports complex to showcase their God given talents in athletics by competing with each other carrying the name of their school and the province they are from.

Before the competition began, organizers arranged a forum for athletes and coaches to discuss innovations in relation to the sports and provide insights in Athletics. Ms. Jeniellyn Lou E. Saldo, International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) Professional status holder, was the Special Guest Speaker for the event and the main facilitator for the Athletes forum and workshop.

According to Meet Manager, Airnel T. Abarra, “Ms. Saldo is a great model especially for women athletes since she express positive attitude towards fitness and body image.” PIO-LDN
