Members of the Provincial Development Council Chaired by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo convened to discuss the latest updates on development programs and activities of the different offices of the Provincial Government for the current year and the coming years on December 6, 2018 at Macapagal Training Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod. Included to present its development program is the Municipality of Tubod. Enp Donna Bella Aguilar, MPDC of Tubod opened its two proposals in the Council-the Construction of Flood Control Protection Project in Barangay Dalama and in Poblacion. 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo strongly agrees with the project but suggested that before its implementation it shall ensure that sanitary provision be incorporated in all drainage projects of the province in order to protect the waters of Panguil Bay as well as the livelihood of the fishermen in the coastal municipalities, to which Mayor Joselito E. Miquiabas, an Engineer also suggested that construction of a treatment basin to all 22 municipalities shall also be considered.

The Provincial Governance Roadmap for the year 2019 to 2022 was discussed by Engr. Anecita R. Lendio, the Provincial Agriculture Office presented the Provincial Corn Roadmap for the year 2019 to 2023, and Ms. Alerma Yorong, Acting Provincial Tourism Officer talks on the various activities prepared by the Provincial Government in the annual celebration of ‘Paskuhan sa Lanao del Norte’ which will commence on December 7, 2018 until January 6, 2019.

Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Melania A. Untao explains the Nutrition Situation in Lanao del Norte comparing the improvements from 2012 to 2016 of ages 0 to 71 months. The prevalence of Underweight from 0 to 71 months went down from 9.19 to 6.97. For the Severely Underweight an improvement of 2.81 to 1.73 whiles the Overweight decreases from 1.91 to 1.10.

Though there are improvements, Dr. Untao encouraged the Local Chief Executives to continue to support the programs of the Provincial Nutrition Council and fill-in those position (if vacant) for the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Undergo trainings for Barangay Nutrition Scholars and create its Municipal Nutrition Action Plan and allocate funds thereof of its implementation.
