Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo attends the 1st day of the three-day “Workshop for the Updating of the Disaster Risk Reduction / Climate Change Adaptation (DRR / CCA) – Enhanced Provincial Development Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) for Lanao del Norte” on October 17, 2018 at Mindanao Civic Center Hotel Function Hall, Sagadan, Municipality of Tubod.
The Provincial Chief Executive provided the updates on the efforts of the provincial government in addressing the effects of climate change, particularly the project on Integrated In-house Solid Waste Management System, a joint venture of the Environment & Natural Resources Office, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office and the Provincial Planning & Development Office with the assistance of the various offices of the provincial government like the Provincial Engineer’s Office, the Provincial Health Office, to name a few.
This three-day workshop aims to: Revisit the vision of PGLDN that would provide a long term view of the province and reflect the aspirations of its leadership and citizens, and will serve as an overall inspiration for the rest of the PDPFP (Provincial Development Physical Framework Plan), To prepare or to assist the planning environment with the consideration of the development variables and symptoms of development as well as the land use framework, To identify, validate key development problems and corresponding goals, objectives, strategies and corresponding programs, projects and activities, To incorporate mainstream disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation or drr/cca concerns based on the updated provincial disaster risk and vulnerability assessment report and, To incorporate mainstream culture and conflict sensitivity and peace in the plan formulation.
On the first day of the workshop, EnP Leonila G. Cajarte, OIC-Assistant Regional Director of NEDA 10, welcomed all participants before presenting the Regional Development Planning and PDPFP Formulation Process. Ms. Anna Marie Uytingco representing the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) discussed the topic with regards to Understanding the Basic Concepts of Culture, Peace and Conflict, while Enp Archimedes C. Lazaro, Supervising EDS, DRD of NEDA 10 presented the Localization of the PDP / RDP Results Matrix and the Sustainable Development Goals. PIO-LDN
