The Department of the Interior and Local Government – Lanao del Norte spearheads “Local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (LADACs) Functionality and Effectiveness Orientation and LADACs Summit” in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte and the Philippine National Police of the province on August 9, 2018 at the Gymnasium of Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, Sagadan, Municipality of Tubod.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, Chair of Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, called the meeting to order and personally acknowledged the presence of the Municipal Mayors and expressed gratitude of their support to the programs of the provincial government particularly in sustaining peace and order.

The Provincial Chief Executive as well recognized the efforts of the local chief executives of their actions to eradicate the proliferations of illegal drugs in their respective municipalities and turn on the challenge to the Barangay Chairmen and members of BADACs to work harder and always coordinate with their Mayors, the PNP, DILG and PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) to put an end of this social issue that affects primarily the family and eventually the community.

In addition, Governor Angging tackled on illegal gambling that is also one of the social problems, in which the Governor tapped PNP Provincial Director, PPSupt Leopoldo E. Cabanag to take actions on this matter.

Furthermore, DILG and members of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council of Lanao del Norte distributed Plaques of Appreciations to 76 Barangays and to 14 Municipalities with Drug Cleared Barangays, as well as handing over Plaque of Recognition to 10 Municipalities and to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte for the Seal of Good Local Governance.

Governor Angging handed the plaques to the Barangay Chairmen and to the Municipal Mayors together with DILG Assistant Regional Director, Abdullah V. Matalam, DILG Provincial Director, Bruce Augusto Colao and PNP Provincial Director, PPSupt. Leopoldo E. Cabanag. PIO-LDN
