Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo attends the convocation spearheaded by the Provincial Grains Processing Center. Monaderio A. Banding, Manager of PGPC, presented the updates of his office to provincial government employees’ in-front of the Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Municipality of Tubod on June 18, 2018.

Governor Angging reminds the employees to be sincere in their work not for themselves but for the good of the people of Lanao del Norte. “You have to do your job well. You have to find ways to solve the problems within your office. Do not look for scapegoats by blaming other offices. Remember, we are here to serve the people of Lanao del Norte efficiently and with sincerity,” addressing the provincial employees.

Meanwhile, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, was courteously called by the Provincial Chief Executive to give a message and updates of the two Congressmen’s activities in the House of Representatives and the programs of his office.

Congressman Bobby humbly informed the employees of the programs of his office, like working along with TESDA and other national government agencies in providing financial capital for sustainable livelihood programs under the umbrella of the Inclusive Growth Plan for vision 2020.

On the other hand, the 2nd District Representative cited that he and Congressman Khalid are included in the Bicameral Committee, where the two Committees handling the Bangsamoro Basic Law from the House of Representatives and the Senate will convene to discuss each other’s version and to come up with a version that is acceptable and approved by both committees.

The two Representatives of the Province of Lanao del Norte will do their best to convince the Congressmen and Senators to exclude the 6 Municipalities of the province to be part of the Bangsamoro territory. These 6 interior municipalities are considered the buffer areas of the coastal municipalities and are important for sustaining peace not only in Lanao del Norte but to the whole region and the country in general.

Furthermore, Nunungan Municipality, 1 of the 6 Municipalities included in the BBL do not only provide safety to the province but as well it is considered part of the watershed system of the Kapatagan Valley. What also worries Congressman Bobby is that, if Nunungan Municipality will no longer be a piece of Lanao del Norte then if there will be a deforestation in the area, which the Provincial Government and the 2nd District can no longer control or intervene, the Kapatagan Valley will be affected and the people living in the valley, who are farmers will suffer tremendously for their livelihood depends on the water provided by the watershed.

Congressman Bobby hopes that the Senate version of BBL will adapt the version of the House of Representatives, that a plebiscite will take place in the entire Province of Lanao del Norte for the people to decide whether or not the 6 Municipalities will be included in the Bangsamoro territory.
