June 17, 2018. Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo personally met Dr. Aurelio S. Agacaoili at Mindanao Civic Center-Hotel Restaurant. Dr. Agcaoili is a Filipino American Educator and currently a Professor at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Hawaii, USA, was in the province to conduct a three day “Intensive Training on Teaching and Writing of Literature” to English teachers of Lanao del Norte held at the Formation Center in Linamon Municipality, beginning June 15.
The Man of Literature was glad to see the Provincial Governor and uttered his appreciation of the time spared by Governor Angging to meet them before stating his proposed project in creating a Provincial Library, Archives, and Museum of Lanao del Norte. PLAM Lanao del Norte aims to put together in one physical space the best of the documents, library needs, archives, information services, and museum of Lanao del Norte. As part of the broader Lanao identity, it includes as well some other aspects of Northern Mindanao languages and cultures and the historical, archaeological, and cultural fact that Lanao also in part of the maritime region of the Southeast Asia.
Governor Angging is open to the idea in which Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Marivic D. Ramos was encouraged by the Governor to pursue the project with the help of the Department of Education-Lanao del Norte.
Dr. Agcaoili and Board Member Ramos were accompanied by Myrna Lyn M. Maruhom, PhD, Chief Curriculum Implementation Division, Teresita B. Ilago, PhD, Education Program Supervisor, and Maria Eva S. Edon, PhD, Education Program Supervisor.
Dr. Edon personally expressed her gratitude to Governor Angging for the continuous support extended to the Department of Education-Lanao del Norte in all of its programs and activities.
Governor Angging and Dr. Agcaoili exchanged token of appreciation, in which the Provincial Chief Executive handed Dr. Agacaoili a Coffee table book, “LANAO DEL NORTE – FRONTIER of PEACE with her personal message and signature written on it. And on the other hand, Dr. Agcaoili gave the Governor a copy of one of his work, titled, “Signos/Sign’, which he also inked it with his personal message and signature. PIO-LDN
