The 1st Moving Up Exercises for the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education in the Province of Lanao del Norte took place at Lala Evacuation Center in Barangay Lanipao, Municipality of Lala on April 12, 2018.
A total of 464 completers of Junior High School and 9 Elementary graduates proudly gathered inside the evacuation center to celebrate their achievement in completing the ALS program of DepEd before moving forward to another level this coming June.
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo was happy to see the great number of learners who successfully passed all the requirements needed in order to advance to the next ladder, a way of achieving the goals and dreams in life.
“I will only ask one thing from you, aim high, never settle for anything less, for there is no harm in trying and continue to achieve you dream by working hard and motivate yourselves for one day, who knows you will be somebody and you can help your family live a better life,” Governor Angging said to the graduates.
The Provincial Chief Executive as well expressed gratitude to the teachers and volunteer teachers for their dedication and devotion in giving better quality education to the youth, especially the less fortunate ones in the municipalities.
In her agreement with the DepEd of Lanao del Norte, Govenor Angging assures the volunteer teachers to be given the priority when there are job vacancies for teachers in the province.
Governor Angging strongly recognizes the importance of education to the youth. When she assumed the role as Provincial Governor, she immediately had a meeting with former Schools Division Superintendent Duhaylungsod to help aid the Alternative Learning System in the barangays by continuously utilise the budget of P700,000 left from the previous administration of now Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo in support for the program by hiring volunteer teachers assigned in the barangays under the School Board Fund.
The vision of the new Schools Division Superintendent Roy Angelo E. Gazo in improving and attaining better quality education in Lanao del Norte is greatly supported by Governor Angging, 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo.
The Quibranza-Dimaporo family is always behind the programs that benefits the youth of the Province of Lanao del Norte. This can also be seen in the activities organized by Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, Executive Assistant to the Office of the Provincial Governor in promoting sports to the youth of the province.
Governor Angging too thanked the Barangays for allowing their facilities to be used by the students of Alternative Learning System. Mayor Allan J. Lim of Lala Municipality and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member and Committee Chairman for Education, Marivic Ramos were present to show support to Governor Angging and to the program of Department of Education.
