LANORTEMAN 2018 began its 1st Leg of the Three Leg Series by Kicking-Off LanorteKids at Mindanao Civic Center Sport Complex early morning of April 07, 2018.
Young Triathletes ages 8 to 12 years old showcased their remarkable abilities through Swimming, Cycling and Running held within the Sports Complex of the Province of Lanao del Norte.
Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo continue to introduce the sport with the full support of Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo by encouraging young athletes to participate in this fast growing three sport marathon, a way to develop not only their physical strength but also their mental toughness, self-discipline, perseverance and personality.
The night before the race, Mr. Dennis Yap of Transition Production briefed the Triathletes participating for the 1st Leg of LANORTEMAN 2018 at the Gazebo of Mindanao Civic Center Hotel, Sagadan, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Mr. Yap presented the rules of the game to more than 300 Triathletes that needs to be followed to avoid disqualification. The race course was also shown starting from the seaport of Kolambugan Municipality including the bike route to Municipality of Maigo and the direction towards Mindanao Civic Center. And above all, the Triathletes were reminded to observe safety measures when navigating the race course for it is open to vehicular traffic.
On Sunday, April 8, Triathletes of Lanao del Norte and from other regions of the country successfully completed the course of the 1st Leg of LANORTEMAN 2018 that started early morning at the wharf of the Municipality of Kolambugan and ended at Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex.
Municipal Mayor Lorenzo Maniegos welcomes the Triathletes in his hometown and expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte and to Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo for choosing Kolambugan as the starting point before counting down the time to begin the race.
