Ilocos Norte Provincial Governor Maria Imelda Josefa Romualdez Marcos or famously known as Governor Imee came down to Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty” to grace the finale of the month-long celebration for women in the province with the theme, “We Make Change Work for Women,” on March 23, 2018 at Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium.

Governor Marcos is one of the iconic female leaders and the perfect model of empowered women in the country brought inspiration in the hearts of the various women’s group coming from the different municipalities of the province that leadership is not only for men, women can also be a leader and encouraged them to continue to aspire for women empowerment in the communities by working together as one, and reminded all women to take care of themselves first before others.

Governor Marcos expressed happiness for the people of Lanao del Norte and commends the leadership of the Quibranza-Dimaporo family in sustaining unity in the province that leads towards peace and development.

 “Lanao del Norte is a peaceful place. The unity between the Muslims and the Christians brought prosperity and development in the province. The genuine leadership of the Quibranza-Dimaporo for years has now enjoyed by the people. The marriage of Congressman Bobby and Governor Angging brought stability, understanding and acceptance to each other’s difference that leads to progress and development in the province,” Governor Imee said.

Lanao del Norte Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo expressed gratitude to Governor Imee for taking time to visit the province and personally experienced the warm hospitality and tremendous support of the people to the Marcos family.

2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo was proud to accompany Governor Imee to the humble province from Manila and took a break from his hectic schedule in the House of Representatives to personally support the women’s month culmination which was organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office of Lanao del Norte.
