Lanao del Norte Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo presides over the Joint Provincial Local Government Unit-Lanao del Norte & Mindanao Humanitarian Team Meeting on Tropical Storm Tembin (Vinta) at Incident Command Post inside the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, Sagadan, Tubod on January 3, 2018.

Governor Angging thanked the Mindanao Humanitarian Team from Agencies of the United Nations and various Non-Governmental Organizations (Local & International) who came in the province to express their support and help in the augmentation of resources of the Provincial and Local Government of Lanao del Norte for the affected residents of tropical storm Vinta particularly the badly hit municipalities of Salvador, Lala, Munai, and Tubod.

In the meeting, the team agreed to classify the groups per cluster for efficient and effective coordination in delivering relief goods to the displaced families especially those hard to reach areas.

For security reasons, Lt. Col. Galileo R. Goyena, Jr. of the 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion informed the humanitarian teams to coordinate regularly with the Provincial Governor or to Ms. Abeliza C. Manzano, Head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Lanao del Norte when there are schedules of humanitarian missions particularly in the interior areas of the province.

Lt. Col. Goyena as well notified all concern agencies that the Armed Forces of the Philippines has provided two (2) helicopters for the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte to use for faster delivery of relief goods to areas inaccessible by four wheel motor vehicles.

Governor Angging requested the AFP to dedicate the Army’s chopper mostly to the Municipality of Munai until the Dalama Bridge becomes operational or passable. Also in the meeting the Provincial Governor asked the Representative of the Department of Public Works & Highways with regards to the status of the Dalama Bridge, the Padianan-Kilala submarine bridge & the Poblacion Bridge in the Municipality of Salvador and the Pinuyak Bridge of the Municipality of Lala.

DPWH 2nd District Engineering Officer, Engr. Alykhan Ali said that as of now all heavy equipments of the department has been mobilized all over the region. The Engineer added that he is waiting for the Backhoe to arrive and will then proceed to Dalama Bridge this day to help in the on-going rehabilitation and also the Engineer informed Governor Angging that they are tapping the help of all construction firm based in the province.
