On Monday January 15, 2018, The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office handed over Non-Food Items to 31 families in the Municipality of Maigo & 26 families in the Municipality of Kauswagan, all victims of Tropical Storm Vinta. Each pack of non-food item contains sleeping gears, hygiene kit and Kitchenware/Dinnerware enough for one family. The Office of Civil Defense continuously provides these essential items to the Provincial Government through the National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council.
The PSWDO on January 16 delivered 64 family packs to families affected by the calamity in the Municipality of Tagoloan. Municipal Social Welfare & Development Officer Aida Macadindang received the orange boxes of non-food items as well acknowledged the 64 food packs from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the initiative of Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare & Development. The food items include 5 kilos of rice and various canned goods.
The Provincial Government works hand in hand with non-government organizations like the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation in providing drinking water, sleeping mat and clothing to 56 beneficiaries affected by the natural calamity residing in Purok Tugas in Barangay Maranding, Municipality of Lala. The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte welcomes other organizations who are willing to provide aid to the victims of the calamity.
On January 17, 364 Families of Barangay Pendulunan in the Municipality of Munai also received essential items from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte. On behalf of Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, Honorable Tawantawan Cauntongan spearheads the distribution along with PSWDO Head, Annabelle S. Mendez, Provincial Cooperative Office Head, Minda V. Regis with the staff of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office and of the Provincial Community Affairs Division of the Provincial Governor’s Office.
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo constantly provide the needs of the affected families due to Tropical Storm Vinta in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense through the National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council and the Department of Social Welfare & Development as well to non-government organizations like the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation and the SM Foundation, Incorporated.
