PTO Mandate

  • Report regularly to the Provincial Governor on the tax collection efforts in the local government unit
  • Advise the Governor, the SP, Local Government and National Officials concerned regarding disposition of local government funds and such other matters relative to public finance;
  • Take custody and exercise proper management of funds of local government unit concerned;
  • Take charge of the disbursement of all local government funds and such other funds the custody of which may be entrusted to him by law or other competent authority;
  • Inspect private commercial and industrial establishments within the jurisdiction of the local government unit concerned in relation to the implementation of tax ordinances, pursuant to the provisions under Book II R.A. 7160;
  • Maintain and update the Tax Information System of the LGU;
  • Exercise technical supervision over all treasury offices of component cities and municipalities ; and
  • Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by law or ordinances.
  • To stabilize the finance of the province and its municipalities through a continuous of improving local revenues efficiency and the program management of each resources.
  • To provide the Provincial Governor, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and other officials in the province about the financial status needed in policy formulation on program implementation.
  • To provide the province and municipalities with an efficient and progressive organization for fiscal administration particularly in the collection, custody and disbursement of funds, budgeting and local taxation.
