Provincial Government Relief Operations in Matungao, Lanao del Norte

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte continue in its effort in providing assistance to all municipalities of the province where Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are taking shelter from the conflict in Marawi City.

 

Vice Mayor Jaber Maba Azis of the Municipality of Matungao, Lanao del Norte, 28.6 km from Marawi City claimed they have more than four hundred families from Lanao del Sur who are taking refuge in their town, immediately Ms. Annabelle S. Mendez of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) assembled the relief operation team including the men of the Provincial Governor’s Office-Community Affairs Division to answer the call of Vice Mayor Azis, before 10:00 am the team arrived in the area where IDPs are located and instantly set-up tables while people patiently waiting for their turn to come in front with their DSWD yellow card for identification that they are really indeed IDPs from Marawi City for the purpose of equal distribution of relief goods.

 

Vice Mayor Jaber Maba Azis is grateful to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte and personally to Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo and to the two District Representatives, 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza-Dimaporo and 2nd District Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo for the unwavering service and concerned shown to all the people of Lanao del Sur.

 

Recently, Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo took time to visit in person the Gomampong D. Ali Cultural Center in the old Municipal Hall of Balo-i to see to it that relief and medical operations are directly given to all IDPs.

 

738 families were given relief goods and medical supplies by the Provincial Government. Each pack of relief goods contains kilos of rice, variety of canned goods, instant noodles prepared by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and medical supplies were carefully identified by the Provincial Health Office to help prevent the spread of diseases inside the center. Babies, pregnant women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWD) were given priorities to received medical supplies. Hygiene Kits was also handed to individuals. Plastic wares like pales, dippers and water containers were received by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development in the Municipality of Balo-i. PIO-LDN
