The unity of the Muslim and Christian Filipinos here in Lanao del Norte is an obstacle for the drug trade to spread all-throughout the province

Farewell drug addiction, recovering drug dependents that are willing to change join “CADRE” or Camp based Drug Rehabilitation program.

To remove the negative vibes associated with drug addiction, drug dependents or now called reforming drug personalities to undergo treatment and rehabilitation went to Camp Gallego for CADRE a recovery and wellness program.

Reforming drug personalities (RDP) whether drug users or pushers, who surrendered under Operation Tokhang are screened, interviewed and reviewed if they are worthy for a change.

Reforming drug personalities will first be profiled by the DOH to determine who among them are experimental, occasional or heavy compulsive users and drug dependents. This will help authorities in determining the suitable treatment for each one during the program.

Hopefully, CADRE program will “destigmatize” drug addiction and lead to more understanding about the “recovering drug dependents,” here in Lanao del Norte.

“we are much better than any other Muslim provinces because you can see here in Lanao del Norte nga kami Alan, Edmund that we are united here and the Muslims and the Christians are working together for Peace in Lanao del Norte” – Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo

The unity of the Muslim and Christian Filipinos here in Lanao del Norte is an obstacle for the drug trade to spread all-throughout the province.

“Nakita nako nga kamo diay human mo nga nahimo nangabiktima sa drugs mu-salute ko sa inyo kay nakita nako na kamoisog kayo mo kay niangkon mo ug nidawat” – Tubod Mayor Leoncio Bagol speaking to the recovering drug dependents.

“There is Life after TokHang, it has been proved, it is tested and proven” – Atty. Faro Antonio O. Olaguera, CSEE on assuring the reforming drug personalities that the decisions they made and the efforts they will spend for them to change their ways will never be wasted.

In the end, the change that will bring about in CADRE will solely be dependent on the endeavor of the patient, the government programs are guides that will help them get the Life after Tokhang that they wish. PIO-LDN

Gov. Angging Dimaporo leads frontline-services to Pantar

PANTAR, Lanao del Norte — Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza Dimaporo led various frontliners of the provincial government to this town, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, in an effort to bring the provincial government closer to the people.

Dubbed as Espesyal Mass-based Program (EMBP), Alagang IQD, which stand for the lady governor’s complete name “Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo,” the program tags the different services of the provincial government to visit the towns of Lanao del Norte and offer their services to the people, ranging from social work to education to health, among others.

Angging (Dimaporo),” Mayor Limbona said when asked about the concerns of his townsfolk.

Gov. Dimaporo said, “This is the program wherein we are bringing the province closer to the people. At nakita na ninyo, we have with us the different departments and, including our partners the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) na naghatag pud ug ayuda, their services, also to the community.”

“This is the second. The first was in Tagoloan, and its very successful. Amu jud nah (services) gipaabot sa ilaha. Dili kinahanglan nga sila pa muduol nato. I guess, the next visit will be in the Second District of the province,” she said.

The same program will be held in all the 22 towns in the province, she assured.

“Of course, I am very thankful in spite of sa akong kaabang kaddong niaging piniliay — na ilahang igsuon, ilahang kadugo — but in spite of that because of the leadership of Mayor Exchan nidaug kita diri sa lungsod sa Pantar, and I am very thankful for that. Ug mao na gisuklian jud nato sila ug serbisyo nga kinasing-kasing kay ang among pagdala nga pamolitika dinhi sa Lanao del Norte dili man ang amoang personal interest kun dili alang sa kaayuhan sa katawhan,” Gov. Dimaporo said.

Prior to visiting Pantar, Gov. Dimaporo graced the distribution of corn seeds for farmer-beneficiaries affected by the El Nino phenomenon.

The program was an offshoot of then Gov. Khalid Dimaporo’s declaration, through the legislative branch, of some towns in the province to be in a state of calamity due to the wheather phenomenon.

“There were 14 municipalities affected, and na-download na sa province, and after the bidding (process), the seeds arrived yesterday (Nov. 10) and “we immediately released them to the beneficiaries,” Gov. Dimaporo said. (Cheng Ordonez/PIO-PLDN)

Zubiri, Dimaporo hold joint RDC, PDC consultation-meeting in Lanao del Norte

photo-zubiriTUBOD, Lanao de Norte — Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo hosted the conduct of the Joint Consultation-Meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) and the Provincial Development Council of Lanao del Norte in the Formulation of the Regional Development Plan for 2017-2022, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 206, at the MCC Gymnasium, Sagadan, here.

RDC chairman and Bukidnon Governor Jose Zubiri Jr. presided over the joint consultation meeting alongside Lanao del Norte Gov. Quibranza-Dimaporo.

Zubiri said this is the second province he has held series of joint consultation-meetings region-wide. The first was held in Misamis Occidental province last Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Joining Governors Zubiri and Dimaporo were Lanao del Norte 1st District Representative Abdullah “Bobby” Dimaporo, 2nd District Representative Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo, RDC vice chairperson and National Economic Development Authority, Regional Office 10 (NEDA 10) Regional Director Leon Dacanay, along with Executive Assistant IV Sittie Aminah Dimaporo, among others.

“What we did here is the first to happen. In the past, the RDC meetings are done once every three months; and, what really happened was the projects (submitted for approval) were actually from Manila and merely approved here in the local level. But, this time it’s different,” Zubiri said.

Zubiri said all the local concerns are culled and be taken up directly by the RDC and then to the Office of the President.

Zubiri has vowed to bring the consolidated concerns of all the five provinces in Northern Mindanao himself direct to President Rodrigo Duterte, even before he submits the same to the NEDA to make sure that he can tell Duterte that he has fulfilled his vow to bring the concerns of his region up for the President’s endorsement.

“We’ve been dreaming of this for quite some time. We wanted to, at least, be given our proper share in the income that is derived from our region. But, it was never, never done. It is only now that we have (the chance). God’s will that the president is from Mindanao,” Zubiri said, “and he promised to help us,” he added.

Governor Dimaporo, for her part, said the meeting was attended by most of the mayors in the province, board members and line agency officials who take part in consolidating the concerns of the province.

Gov. Dimaporo said President Duterte being a former local chief executive can easily understand the concerns of the local government units in the towns and provinces, even as she said that she strongly believes in the leadership of Gov. Zubiri, as chair of the RDC, in providing the avenue to resolved their concerns.

Gov. Dimaporo singled out the Panguil Bay Bridge as among the projects she wanted to see through. “It’s been long decades — the Panguil Bay Bridge. Dugay na nah. I was governor then. The FS (feasibility study) was submitted by Abdullah (Rep. Bobby Dimaporo) when he was governor.

And then, sa ako nga panahon (during my term) i was the one who lobbied for that. In fact, naa nay pondo (there is a fund for that), but naudlot lang ba (it was stymied). And, I am hoping, because (Public Works and Highway) Sec. Mark Villar — we had a meeting with the governors and he was our guest — and I followed it up with him. He told me naa jud pondo (there is really fund). The site man gud, wala pa siya na-identify. There are two (sites for the footbridge), pero wala pay decision (but there has been no decision yet as to which
of the two sites), said Gov. Dimaporo.

After the presentation of the provincial situation and challenges by Gov. Dimaporo, the participants proceeded with the simultaneous sectoral workshop and plenary/presentation of outputs. By CHENG ORDONEZ
