Indigent kids, volunteer health workers receive Christmas gifts from Lanao del Norte LGU

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than 1,500 indigent kids and volunteer health workers from different towns of this peaceful province eagerly received their Christmas gifts from the provincial government through its Provincial Community Affairs Office (PCAO).

 
The annual gift-giving activity dubbed as ‘Pamaskong Handog’ is an initiative of Governor Khalid Dimaporo.
 
Pamaskong Handog is part of the month-long Christmas celebration of the Lanao del Norte government known as “Paskohan sa Lanao del Norte”. The yuletide festivity includes Christmas Lantern and Christmas Tree contests,Christmas Carolling contest, and Christmas Belen contest.
 
The invited children each received gift packs containing toys, candies and chocolates while members of the Provincial Volunteer Health Workers (PVHW) each received Noche Buena grocery packs.
 
The Christmas gift distribution event was held on December 18, 2015 at the covered Tennis court of the Provincial Capitol grounds.
 
“I am happy to join all of you in your Christmas celebration.  This is our simple way of saying ‘thank you’ for all your support in my three terms as Provincial Governor.  I hope ‘Pamaskong Handog’ will still be continued in the coming years even after I step down as Governor”, expressed Governor Khalid Dimaporo during his message.
 
Rianas Snack Inn and Catering Services, a local food catering company, bagged the top prize in the Christmas Lantern and Christmas Tree contests of the ‘Paskohan sa Lanao del Norte’ Festival organized by the Provincial Tourism Office.  LAR & VNL/PIO-LDN
