The Office Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo through the Community Affairs Division distributed kilos of rice and pack of dates to our Muslim brothers and sisters all over Lanao del Norte celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan. Every year during Ramadan our Governor initiates this program to express her sincerity of serving the people of the province. This is called Sadaqa’h Petra’ah.
This year the rice distribution commences on June 13, 2017 (Tuesday) where three of the twenty four municipalities of the Province have been visited first by the Provincial Governor’s Office – Community Affairs Division (PGO-CAD). The Municipalities of Kolambugan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo and Matungao receive sacks of rice and boxes of dates to every Jama’at (place of gathering).
Each pack of rice and dates is given to every Jamaa (religious follower) for their Plapis (first meal after a day of fasting). SND Municipal Treasurer Ansary Limgas accepted the packs of rice and dates along with other local leaders present at the occasion.
In Kolambugan, Imam Mohamad Amincapal expressed his gratitude to Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, “Alhamdulillah, dako among pasalamat kay Gobernador Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo sa iyang paghatag aning Petra’ah” the Imam said in vernacular. This blessing can help the five families from Marawi City taking shelter and praying in the Mosque of Barangay Riverside in Kolambugan, added Imam Mohamad.
The Provincial Government supports all residents of the Province either Muslims or Christians. This is unique to Lanao del Norte where diverse culture and religion thrives together for decades living side by side with harmony, respect and understanding that strengthens the relationship of one another sustaining a peaceful community for the betterment of Lanao del Norte.
The distribution will continue all throughout the province until all Jama’at will receive its own goods from Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo before the day of Eid al-Fitr (festival of breaking of the fast).
