Governor Dimaporo leads ‘Bike for clean and peaceful elections’

Tubod, Lanao del Norte –  Governor Khalid Dimaporo led a group of more than 30 bikers in a bicycle ride that started from the coastal town of Linamon to Sultan Naga Dimaporo with a total distance of more than 80 kilometers. 

 
The awareness campaign dubbed as ‘Bike for clean and peaceful elections’ aims to urge candidates in the upcoming local and national elections including their supporters to abide by the laws and guidelines set by Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and to remind them to avoid using any forms of intimidation and violence especially during election day.
 
“I would like to call on to all my fellow candidates especially those running for public positions here in Lanao del Norte to help make the upcoming May 9 election a clean, honest, orderly and peaceful exercise of  our right to vote as we choose the leaders who will serve us for the next 3 years.  We owe it to our children to set a good example”, appealed Governor Dimaporo.
 
Among those who participated include bikers from Sultan Naga Dimaporo led by Mayor Ulwan Dimaporo, members of different mountain bike clubs in Lanao del Norte and some bikers from Cagayan de Oro City.
 
A short program was conducted at SND town plaza after the bike ride.  VNL/PIO-LDN
